Laughter, A Powerful Tool of Love
By Fran Hafey/Mysti

There are some things in life we all do well and better than others. For me... I figured when I was younger, if I couldn't be a comedian, then I could help others find joy and laughter in life, one way or another. It comes natural and sometimes I just can't help but always having something funny to say or do.

I'm not actually that good with jokes, but when it comes to sarcasm, funny incidents, and come backs... I am the Queen. I am quick witted, so they say.

I love to laugh and smile, I always have. I tell people that I see myself as being quite jolly. I describe myself as being a gnome... you know the short, rosy cheeked, small people that are as round as they are tall and just filled with joy and happiness. Sometimes being so positive can be annoying to people, but oh well, the way I see it, better to have them annoyed with me for being funny than something else, right?

I'm also a very expressive type person, even when I'm typing in chat to someone online, I love the little pictures and tend to put in brackets, words and phrases to express my feelings.

I think I must have passed this onto my children too. We tend to use sounds, hand gestures and facial expressions to get our points across. You should see us in a room together when we're talking, quite active and silly looking for sure, you'd think we'd all been drinking.

I, for one, feel this is a lot of what our world needs at this time... more smiles...laughter, love, peace, fun and calmness. It's not always something we can have everyday, but striving to have it, is important.

Some will say, "well, how can we have that in today's world?"

With all the modern conveniences we have around us, there must be some way you can bring a bit more joy into your life. I prefer the old fashion way of communicating with people and sharing happy, funny antidotes about life. We all have some good memories and working on tossing out the old, negative ones is a good thing to do. We may keep the memories, just not the negative emotions attached to them that in time could eat a hole in our hearts.

There's always plenty of time for seriousness and handling the things in life we must handle... but remember to take time to laugh! I love to watch my kids, my Grandkids, my animals, wildlife and again, just share some good old stories that always bring smiles. Looking at old photographs is great too.

I also like a good funny movie now and then and sharing joy wherever I can. Share a good joke, a joyful memory, a hug, a tickle, or a smile and see what happens. Laughter is great medicine, so much better than the alternatives and it's actually quite catching. When one person laughs, it catches on and before you know it, the whole world will find something to laugh at.

I know this may sound unrealistic to some people reading
this, but when we truly believe in something...
miracles happen. Laughter brings people together and keeps them together too. It can change the atmosphere in any place and keep happiness and joy alive. Never underestimate the power of laughter... it's a powerful tool of love!

Love and hugs always,
Mysti
