Hello everyone,
Finally Spring is here and with the time change, the days are longer, so light is here longer and
I, and manyy can get more done!! I like the longer days and the morning sun now comes in my window
waking me up earlier, which is something I need to do too!

Many changes are occuring for many of us... while many people are moving to new homes in new areas
all over the globe, some are finding those of their Soul families, new jobs, healing old wounds and taking
care of old business with some big shifts in energy that have come with lunar eclipse, changes in planets,
the new year, new beginnings and digging deeper to find answers they've needed and wanted for quite
some time. What are you willing to do to unclutter your life and your energy at this time in your life and
get on with the big "spring cleaning?" Yes, there's more to come and its time to open the doors and
windows for even more opportunities and get busy!!

I hope Winter wasn't too bad on you and that your St.Patrick's Day and Spring will be wonderful! See
you again in Summer!

Well, I was doing great... getting the newsletter done, when... we had a family incident and my 27 year
old daughter who was hospitalized in November with a stroke, had to come and stay with us with two
of our Grandchildren while they waited for their house to be ready to move into over in Texas the
end of March. The "family incident" caused us to all have to take time to heal, inside and out and we're
still going to need some time. We also all caught colds too! So of course, it put me a bit behind on finishing
the newsletter. Of course, my family is very important to me, as well as my extended family on the internet,
so I should be finished with it very soon. Please send lots of love, light, positive energy and prayers our way!
Thank you!!

Spring Forth Positive Opportunities
by Fran Hafey/Mysti

To me spring has always meant "new life," with flowers coming up from their sleep
and birds building nests and having a new family. Mother earth wakes and shows us
how powerful she can be with life bursting with freshness and color everywhere.

We can choose to be like this too. We can wake every morning and decide to
make everyday new and wonderful! We can start new and try harder and well,
just start! We can choose positive opportunities and positive intentions over
negative. We may feel a bit sluggish still, but we can at least try to think positive
thoughts, feel positive and see the positive opportunities that are right in front of us.

Perhaps we've had something we've needed to do or someone to call or someone
to tell "I love you." We have so many things to be grateful for and why not take
the opportunity to say and do it right now? No better time than today rather than
procrastinate. Perhaps you need to find out more information about a course or
class you want to take... make that call today. Want to start a new hobby, find
out about a new job, spend time with your children, your significant other, or give
someone a smile, donate something, exercise, or just do something you want to
do, like read a book, go for a walk, throw away that cigarette, hug someone
special and let them know their special?

Why not, in the spirit of spring and all things bright and new... do it today!

Affirmation:  I will do something positive today... taking the first step is the
beginning of something so much bigger!

Healing is Like Spring~
By Fran Hafey/Mysti

Usually, about this time of year, people’s attention begins to turn to thoughts
of Spring. They’ve had enough of cold weather, snow and ice and old man
winter has worn out his welcome.

Gardening, seed and plant catalogs begin to come in the mail in hoards
and even the stores are stocking clothing for spring and Easter items.

All I can think of is, its February for goodness sakes and for me, since I’ve
lived in Virginia most of my life, that means “winter!” I also know that
it means to expect a bit more of it too since I was born in February and
almost all of my birthdays have been slushy, icy, snowy and muddy.  I
admit, I’ve dreamt of a warmer, spring like day with no melted snow
puddles to ruin a birthday party, but having a birthday the day before
Valentine’s day can be fun too!

I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty of this time of year and to relax in
knowing that we can’t rush what Mother Earth knows she needs.  Winter
is to Mother Earth like the aging process is to a good cheese. It needs to
rest, age and mature before its time to be opened and eaten. When it has
this process and its reached its perfect timing and perfection, then it tastes
wonderful and is enjoyed by all. Open it before that time and it won’t taste
good and the process is ruined and, just as some spring flowers may come
too early when snow is still on the ground and they die because its too cold.

Every season knows exactly when its time to change. We may get spring fever,
but winter has a purpose and during that time, just like when we’re walking
our spiritual path, it’s a time of perhaps moving a bit slower, letting things
die back, taking time to reflect and going within.

Two years ago, I had some health issues affect me profoundly. They literally
stopped me in my tracks. I had no choice, but to stop my normal way of life
and succumb to my body and my health and do what my body was demanding
of me. The pain and limitations of my body caused me to go into what I call
a “winter” state. I slowed down. I had to rest and sleep much of the time to be
able to handle the physical pain and to heal. I had to take medication and to
listen to my doctors. When I reached a certain point, I had to engage in
physical therapy and do my part to help my body heal on a different level. It
was painful, but it had to be done. It took a lot out of me, but just like the
seasons of Mother Earth, we and our bodies, rotate and change. Sometimes
we must rest, slow down, go within to find answers and allow our body, mind
and souls to heal. I wanted to know why this happened. I felt there was more
to this than just the physical aspect, that surely there was a deeper reason.
I feel that everything is connected and I’m still healing and learning. It was
difficult, but I’m grateful for it, just like winter, because I learned from it, and
yes, I’m also very grateful for the change… the coming of spring, in my life…
the point where I could see and feel the difference in the deep, encircling pain,
to the emerging, able to begin to handle more and begin to heal level I had
reached, just like Mother Earth… slowly, day by day, as the days grow longer
with more light and warmth, comes into spring from winter.

Affirmation: Today I know I can heal my life when I slow down and listen from within.

  Blessings, light and joy,~

Wolf Magick
Susan "Moonwriter" Peznecker

For magickal folk, wolves can be both totem and spirit animals. A totem animal is one with which you feel a strong connection
of kinship and identity. Most people actively seek totem animals, finding them during a course of intense study, on a vision quest,
etc. Totems are teachers: through their example, they inspire us to develop certain qualities and recognize specific gifts within
ourselves.

While people seek out totems, a spirit animal cannot be sought, but appears when the time is right. A spirit animal may be one
that you have not considered before but which presents itself at a time when you are in need of guidance or prepared to take a
spiritual or intellectual leap. If totems are teachers, spirit animals are guardians, infusing your soul with gifts and very much
becoming part of you. Spirit animals may accompany you into the spirit realm, and may help you find answers to magickal problems.

Interestingly, I had already adopted the wolf as a totem before the night I saw the wolf on Mt. Hood. But on that night, when the
shining lupine appeared in my path and stared into my eyes, I knew that I had also been called by its spirit presence. Soon after, I
carried out a ritual in which I acknowledged the wolf's real and spirit presences in my magickal life. Since then, I acknowledge the
wolf as my totem - in addition to my two other totems, bear and crow - and as my only spirit guardian. May his path be swift as he
runs through snowy forests, leaving a trail of silvery shadows in the night!

"Spring" Faery Message
by Mystiblu

This Fairy/Faery card Reading for "Spring" in its entirety. To see my
"Faery Message page" and new message bi-weekly, please visit...
http://Mystickblue.homestead.com/FaeryMessage.html

~Let Go~

As you surrender the need to control, your relaxed energy rapidly attracts your desires.

The fairies and the entire Universe understand your desires and needs, and they've been
trying to bring them to you. You can help your prayers be answered by letting go of the
need to control the details or know the future outcome of this situation. The more you
can relax and trust, the faster everything will resolve in a positive fashion. The Universe's
plans and standards for you exceed your own, so it's best to lean upon this Divine wisdom
and allow it to unfold in a perfect way. If you need to, experiment with letting go-- you
can always take back control; however, the fairies are sure that you'll like the results of
releasing and will adopt it as a health new lifestyle.

Additional Meanings for this Card:
You have nothing to worry about, as everything is working out for the best.

Spring is in the air and also in our hearts! Many things have been "springing up" once again to be handled
or taken care of, once and for all. You may have thought you were finished with that difficult person or that
old situation, but here it is again, wanting you to deal with it and be done with it for good! Letting go isn't
always easy and sometimes can require tough choices and also some tough love! Ask for help from your
Higher power, go within and remember your Personal Power too and know that you have the right to your
own choices, to be happy and to fresh, new beginnings!

Have a wonderful Spring filled with blessings,
   See you in Summer,
          Love to you all,

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter;
to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.

Celebrate Spring
By Fran Hafey

When the last snow has fallen and the days are filled with sunshine, Spring begins.

We still have cool nights, but the days are breezy as we open our windows to let in the freshness and let out the staleness of the long winter indoors.

I always wonder if it will stay or if old man winter will have one more blast.

We get that fever of cleaning and wanting to be outdoors more and more.

The frogs, I hear singing in the small pond and the birds fly in sync, doing their dance of spring love.

The stores are stocked with seeds and all that goes with gardening, even displaying seedling plants that in a few months the vegetables will be enjoyed and by fall will be harvested one last time.

The trees are budding and blooming dancing with the daffodils and tulips. The colors and sounds of Spring are definitely here.

I'm packing away winter clothes and bringing out those that allow me to breathe and move easier as I notice a few more pounds here and there from sitting by the fire and drinking hot chocolate on the long cold winter evenings.

I love the seasons, all of them. Each has they're own beauty.

I choose to celebrate life and not holidays as much, not putting a name on any certain day of the year anymore. I partake in some of them with family, but I am so blessed to be able to see a holiday everyday, when I just look around me.

I would like to give gifts everyday, and I do try, instead of ruining the whole reason for the holidays in the first place. Many children today are coming to expect that even in the smallest of holidays, that they receive something.

Why not teach them to celebrate, dance, sing, love and to share? All these things are much better than feeling like they have to buy something and conform to what society has made holidays into.

I say, CELEBRATE LIFE and in all the seasons, know we are blessed enough to be a part of a time when we can show the children what these special times are.

Show them the land, the sunrises, the sunsets, the rivers, the skies, the trees and all of Mother Earth and what lives here. Show them to respect life, slow down, enjoy life and share love and that these are just a few of the most wonderful gifts we all have been given.

Have a wonderful, colorful Spring and remember... in all things there is a season.~

"Through the echoes of time I can hear the Celtic drums whisper as they sing away my thoughts of today helping me to feel peace deep within."
        ~Mystiblu~Fran Hafey~

Memories of March
By Fran Hafey/Mysti

It's snowing here today, its March and I have seen the daffodils and tulips already peaking out of the ground, wanting to burst out with their colors of spring.

It's the snow like today, the kind that is gently falling and letting a small breeze blow it around and dance before me that somehow mesmerizes and makes me stare at it, feeling myself also floating away back in time.

I'm sure that some where in time, I have lived where there was a lot of snow, but just as I remember the memories of when I was a child in this life, I also see times when I lived on mountain sides and have felt the wind on my face and can see the glens below me and far, far away I hear the Celtic drums and see green hills as far as I can see.

I have a longing... to be back there and my heart aches for what it knows so well. It's just one of many visions and memories I have tucked away in my heart and mind.  I can recall people that were important in my life and how we loved life so very much. We loved and knew not of greed and stress. We just lived and did what we had to do, attending to our children, animals, our crops and holding dear to honor.

Knowledge of our past lives can help us to understand why we are drawn to certain things in this life and can show us a pattern. We may feel a strong pull to places, people, beliefs and things. When we let ourselves float back in time and let the thoughts and memories come, we can then start putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

It can be a quite interesting adventure, letting ourselves feel and see parts of who we are and why we relate to people the way we do. I know who I am in this life, but I know that the past and my past lives also have molded my soul through time and that is why I am who I am and do what I do.

I may not ever see in this life, those rolling green hills and tall mountaintops or feel the Celtic air on my face, but I dream about it and may one day just visit there and never leave again.

Spring Season and Crystals for Anger Management

Anger is the feeling we experience when events in our world are not
going according to our plans. Anger is one of the most common and
destructive delusions affecting our minds. Because it is based on an
exaggeration, anger is an expression of our belief system and how we
defend it. It's as if we have an inner idea of how things, events and
people should be for us. When we get angry and either feel frustrated
or try to change them, we tend to give away our power! Many of us
remain a victim to our tempers all of our lives. In essence, anger is
the feeling we get when we want to control the world around us.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, anger is most prevalent in the
Spring. It is considered the emotion of Spring. Although we can and
do experience anger at any time or season, it is Spring when we are
most easily angered. This is believed to be due to the changes of
light and dark and the balance between them.

It is very important to identify the actual cause of whatever
unhappiness we feel. If we are forever blaming our difficulties on
others, this is a sure sign that there are still many problems and
faults within our own mind. If we were truly peaceful inside and had
our mind under control, difficult people or circumstances would not
be able to disturb this peace, and so we would feel no compulsion to
blame anyone or regard them as our enemy. To someone who has subdued
his or her mind and eradicated the last trace of anger, all beings
are friends.

Techniques for Managing Anger

1. The first step towards managing anger, is to identify which
attitudes and convictions that many predispose us to being
excessively angry in the first place! Once these beliefs have been
identified, it is important to take steps to understand and correct
them, if need be.

2. The second step is to realize that anger is a natural human
emotion and it is not the emotion of anger that tends to be a
problem. The problem is the mismanagement of our anger. Mismanaged
anger and rage are the major cause of conflicts in our lives. This
mismanagement often has roots from our childhood that prevents us
from expressing our anger as appropriately as we should. These
factors include fear, denial, ignorance and impatience. These factors
can derail the appropriate management of our anger towards others.
Learning to understand and change these factors in ourselves, will
allow us to express our suppressed anger in a more appropriate way.

3. The third step is learning the appropriate ways of expressing
our " honest and legitimate" anger at others so that we can begin to
cope more effectively with anger provoking situations as they come up
in our lives. When we are anxious or depressed, we are often
experiencing the consequences of our suppressed anger. The problem is
that we have suppressed our anger so deeply that we succeeded in
concealing it from our own selves! All we are left with is the
residual evidence of it, our anxiety or our depression. When we are
depressed, very often we are also angry at ourselves without
realizing it. Learning to appropriately manage our anger at ourselves
is the antidote to much of alcoholism, drugs and sexual abuse.

4. The fourth step in the Anger Management process is to approach
anger by taking responsibility for our own reactions and behavior. We
can do this by addressing our anger with the following coping
techniques:

1. Listen to other people, first: listen carefully to what is being
said. Do not have a preconceived opinion before you hear what is
being said. Remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

2. Think carefully about what you want to say: before you say it.
slow down. What is the underlying factor in your anger? Fear, denial,
impatience?

3. Be clear about what you are going to express.: Your objective is
not to belittle, berate, be sarcastic or attack someone, because
their opinion is different than yours.

4. If their statement is pushing your anger button: know why! Try to
understand the root of your own anger. Look at why they have formed
such an opinion.

5. Express yourself by saying: "I feel angry with (you, them, this
situation) because..." Stay calm in the face of your own and the
other person's anger. The worse thing to do if someone is angry
toward you is to shout back at them! Be patient and ask questions to
get to the heart of problem. Try being carefully assertive, rather
than aggressive.

6. Make lifestyle changes. Making small changes in your life can
allow you to reap great rewards.

7. Get regular exercise: This can help to prevent the accumulation of
tension and will give you regular time away from everyday stress.

8. Learn relaxation exercises such as yoga and meditation. These
forms of exercise will help to release tension in a controlled,
healthy way.

9. Change your environment. Find alternatives for situations which
add stress to your life. Schedule time to relax and unwind.

10. Learn to express your feelings: either by talking to a friend or
by venting feelings in other ways, perhaps creatively through
painting, journaling or taking on a new hobby.

The Rite of Spring
Vernal equinox occurs on March 20, 2008
by Ann-Marie Imbornoni and Elissa Haney
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 20, 2008, is a date that most of us recognize as symbolic of changing seasons. As we welcome spring, people south of the equator are actually gearing up for the cooler temperatures of autumn.

What Happens at the Equinox?
Far from being an arbitrary indicator of the changing seasons, March 20 (March 21 in some years) is significant for astronomical reasons. On March 20, 2008, at precisely 1:48 A.M. EDT (March 20, 05:48 Universal Time), the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. For the Southern Hemisphere, this is the moment of the autumnal equinox.

Equinox Means "Equal Night"
Translated literally, equinox means "equal night." Because the sun is positioned above the equator, day and night are about equal in length all over the world during the equinoxes. A second equinox occurs each year on September 22 or 23; in 2008, it will be on September 22 at 11:44 A.M. EDT (15:44 UT). This date will mark the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the vernal equinox in the Southern (vernal denotes "spring").

Reasons for the Seasons
These brief but monumental moments owe their significance to the 23.4 degree tilt of the Earth's axis. Because of the tilt, we receive the Sun's rays most directly in the summer. In the winter, when we are tilted away from the Sun, the rays pass through the atmosphere at a greater slant, bringing lower temperatures. If the Earth rotated on an axis perpendicular to the plane of the Earth's orbit around the Sun, there would be no variation in day lengths or temperatures throughout the year, and we would not have seasons.

Rituals and Traditions
Modern astronomy aside, people have recognized the vernal equinox for thousands of years. There is no
shortage of rituals and traditions surrounding the coming of spring. Many early peoples celebrated for the basic reason that their food supplies would soon be restored. The date is significant in Christianity because Easter always falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. It is also probably no coincidence that early Egyptians built the Great Sphinx so that it points directly toward the rising Sun on the day of the vernal equinox.

The first day of spring also marks the beginning of Nowruz, the Persian New Year. The celebration lasts 13 days and is rooted in the 3,000-year-old tradition of Zorastrianism.
